Making Mother’s Day dinner at home? Here’s a great way to present your mother with an eye-popping surprise bouquet that is completely edible and completely delicious. Edible flowers can turn an ordinary bowl of greens and veggies into something truly special.
This doesn’t mean you can pop into your local garden centre and treat it like a salad bar. We’ve made a simple flower chart with some common blooms that are readily available at some upscale grocers and speciality food shops. Please be safe about this, and never eat anything you aren’t 100% sure about.
Oh, and don’t forget the dressing. Use a dressing with subtle flavours that won’t mask the taste of the flowers. We would suggest a simple Lemon Poppyseed or French dressing.
